Between the Pages
Adbi Aloom is a book blog dedicated to exploring world literature and promoting diversity in books. Started by Isra Khan at just 15 years old, she hopes to grow it into a vibrant space where readers from all backgrounds can discover new stories, share their thoughts, and find book recommendations that celebrate a wide range of voices and cultures. Whether you’re a seasoned reader or just starting your literary journey, Adbi Aloom is the perfect place to connect, learn, and celebrate the power of diverse storytelling.
Events
My love for books goes beyond reading. I believe stories can build community and spark change. While I regularly host smaller gatherings, like poetry sessions at senior homes and book clubs at community centers, I’ve also organized larger events that bring people together in meaningful ways. From hosting a LitFest celebrating diverse voices to running a book drive for women in prison, these big events reflect my mission to make literature accessible, inclusive, and powerful for everyone.
“It’s in literature that true life can be found. It’s under the mask of fiction that you can tell the truth.”

Spreading Stories, Building Community
I believe in the power of literature to inspire, heal, and connect us all. Whether it’s through reading with young refugee girls, sharing stories with women seeking asylum, or helping seniors find their voices through poetry, I’ve seen firsthand how stories can spark change, provide comfort, and build community.
Sharing stories with young refugee girls has provided them a space to express themselves and find comfort in narratives that resonate with their own lives, fostering confidence and resilience through storytelling. Reading with women seeking asylum has offered moments of solace and connection, creating a supportive environment where they can reflect on their experiences, find hope, and feel a sense of community in an often isolating journey. Helping seniors to write poetry has empowered them to capture their memories, express emotions, and find joy in creativity, strengthening their sense of self-worth and building meaningful connections with others through shared words. Through these experiences, I’m reminded of how books can create bridges between people, no matter their background or circumstance.
